Dear friends of blend,
some news from us as we are going into what is definitely autumn (notwithstanding a couple of freakishly warm days that are always welcome). It’s getting dark early, and the leaves are changing colour, so what better than to start drinking mulled wine and hang out in a warm and cozy place. So you can enjoy it for longer, we have extended our opening hours to 6pm every day from today onwards, we don’t want you to have to rush through our wonderful homemade cakes and other treats.
We’ve also, once again, made a few additions to the menu. Great news for old fans: Our Shakshuka is back, but there are also some yummy new faces, such as a spicy and smoky chipotle chili con carne, made with beautiful beef from grass-fed cows in Somerset. Old favourites such as the Croque blend, the blend fry-up and our star porridge and granola remain, of course, so we trust there is something for everyone this brunch season.
On the art front, our resident artist Mario R Sanchez has teamed up with course facilitator Nia Morris to bring you the After School Arts Club – every Friday from 4pm. It’s open to kids from the age of 3, but we find the mums have been having great fun taking part too! So far we’ve painted still lives, made puppets and, of course, Halloween masks.
Mario also has his first exhibition on at blend this month. There’s a study of a local scene in different techniques, that lets you look at Harringay in a different light each time over. Don’t miss having a look while you try our mulled wine.
